ECP AIRPORT MITIGATION QMS /FORESTRY

Panama City Beach, Florida

ERC > Projects > Mitigation & Restoration > ECP Airport Mitigation QMS /Forestry

ERC is the Qualified Mitigation Supervisor for the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.

ERC began management of the 9,600 acre off-site mitigation property for the airport in 2012. The mitigation is in active management and in addition to monitoring and reporting, ERC oversees the implementation phases including construction of hydrologic improvements, burning and planting.

Mitigation activities include: implementation of the approved mitigation plan (hydrologic restoration, planting, prescribed burning), mitigation monitoring and reporting, water quality sampling, management, and agency coordination.

Through use of innovative adaptive management, ERC has greatly accelerated the implementation schedule. Since ERC began management, over 15,000 acres have been burned, 2500 longleaf pines planted and 240,000 wiregrass plugs were planted.
