ERC conducted a comprehensive soil and landscape evaluation on private timberlands in the pine belt of Mississippi and Florida parishes of Louisiana.
Soils were mapped and grouped according to their properties, landform and habitat.
Numerous soil properties were evaluated including those that posed limitations for the production of commercial timber, wildlife utilization, and forest road construction.
The soil survey team documented soil and landscape features such as natural fertility, habitat, existing and potential erosion, seasonal high water table, permeability, and wetland status.
